Who We Are
At SEC Antenna we design and build professional RF antenna solutions for demanding wireless communication requirements. Our Circular Polarised Helical Antenna series is designed for applications where reliable signal reception, efficient radiation, proper gain and polarisation performance are critical.
Smart Electronics Communication manufactures antennas for HF, VHF, UHF, TETRA, microwave and other specialised communication applications. Products are designed around specific frequency and installation requirements.
Circular Polarised Helical Antenna is a special type of antenna that is used to generate Circular Polarisation. This is useful in communication systems where the relative orientation of the transmitting and receiving antennas can vary. SEC Antenna makes both Right Hand Circular Polarised (RHCP) and Left Hand Circular Polarised (LHCP) versions of it. The polarisation is determined at the time of manufacture for the application required.
High Gain Circular polarised helical antenna
SEC Antenna’s helical antennas are developed with a focus on practical RF performance, robust construction and application-specific requirements. The models available are for different frequency ranges (including configurations from about 225 MHz to 3000 MHz) with a variety of gain and band-width choices. Depending on the model, the gain figures of the antennas are about 9 dBi to 12 dBi.
The antenna construction is made from carefully selected materials which provide both electrical performance and mechanical strength. The radiating element is made of high-quality solid copper wire. The helical structure is generated with equal spacing between turns for supporting the consistent radiation characteristics and gain performance. A specially developed matching technique is employed to provide smooth VSWR over the given frequency range.
Heavy Duty Construction for Professional Use
- Physical protection is a major part of the antenna design for outdoor and rugged installations.
- The SEC Antenna Circular Polarised Helical Antenna is protected by a fibreglass or ABS radome, which is transparent to radio signals.
- Fibreglass construction also provides high strength and helps shield the internal antenna elements from environmental exposure.
- The design of the radome may reduce the effect of environmental conditions such as moisture, wind and the formation of ice.
- Heavy-duty fibreglass radomes can meet terrestrial communication requirements and lighter weight configurations can be used for suitable satellite
communication installations. - The antenna is provided with stainless-steel mounting hardware for secure installation.
Flexible Frequency and Configuration Options
- Different communication systems need different frequency ranges, gain levels, connectors and mechanical arrangements.
- Therefore, SEC Antenna offers several helical antenna designs rather than just one standard design.
- The range offered includes models such as SHL300G10, SHL400G11, SHL600G12, SHL800G12, SHL1400G9, SHL1400G12, SHL1850G12, SHL2400G12 and SHL2850G12.
- The connector options are also customisable based on operating band and customer requirements.
- UHF for circular polarised helical antennas VHF.
- N-Female connectors for UHF and microwaves.
- For high power requirements DIN connectors can also be supplied.
- For applications where additional gain is required, SEC Antenna can provide dual-stacked or quad-stacked helical antenna arrays with appropriate power splitter or combiner cable harnesses.
- Thus, the antenna configuration can be adapted to the communication requirements.
Applications of Circular Polarised Helical Antenna
- Circularly polarised helical antennas are well suited for a variety of specialised communication environments.
- SEC Antenna identifies applications including satellite communication, amateur satellite communication, space communication, animal tracking and handheld satellite communication equipment.
- They may also be considered for other professional RF communications systems that require circular polarisation.
- The right antenna should be selected according to the working frequency, required gain, polarisation, installation environment, connector configuration, power requirements and communication system specifications.
SEC Customised Antennas Solutions
At SEC Antenna we don’t restrict antenna development to standard configurations. Where technically appropriate, we offer a range of options for the connectors, dimensions, paint colours, surface finishes and other requirements. Our engineering approach takes into account the desired application and the needed frequency band when coming up with an antenna solution.
SEC Antenna offers Circular Polarised Helical Antenna solutions for specialised wireless communication requirements emphasising efficient radiating properties, high-performance design, low VSWR, rugged construction and application-specific engineering.
Our aim is to provide a reliable antenna solution tailored to the customer’s technical specifications, whether the requirement is for terrestrial communication, satellite communication, research applications or other RF systems.
